CASE-ing the Catty Challenge #2 - Memory Keeping

Are you ready for another CASE-ing the Catty Challenge?  At CTC we will feature a section of the Stampin' Up! ® catalogue each week as inspiration.

This time around we are checking out the Memory Keeping section.  The idea is to browse through pages 24 - 41 (AUS/NZ) and find a project that you would like to re-create.

You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations. It doesn't even have to be about scrapbooking, journaling or Project Life.  For example, you can use a sketch idea for a card or 3D item. Have fun!

Here's what the CTC Design Team  have made to inspire you to play along with us this week -

Meet the CTC Design Team

Hi there!  Let me introduce and welcome the lovely team for CASE-ing the Catty Challenges.

Alison Barclay
Hi! My name is Alison and I live in Brisbane, Australia.  I have been a card maker for about 11 years and a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 3 years.  I fell in love with stamping about 4 years ago when I realised just how wonderful and creative stamping is.  My style is generally 'clean and simple' and I like lots of white space.  My other 'creative world' is music - my husband is a drummer and I work in the admin team for the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.  I'm also a loving mum to my beautiful two little sons.  I am SO excited to be on the Design Team for CTC and hope to inspire you and be inspired in return by your projects each week.

Hi.  I live in the beautiful state of Tasmania, Australia, with my hubby.  We have two grown up children, a daughter, who is currently studying performing arts and a son, pursuing a career in public policy.  I have been paper crafting since May 2008 and joined up as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in August of that year.  My day job as the Principal of Newstead Christian School keeps me super busy.  When I do snatch some time for myself, you’ll find me in my studio, playing with MDS and my Silhouette Cameo, stamping and die cutting, discovering different ways to make an easel card, or writing the occasional tutorial to help fund my paper craft obsession. I am the founder of CASE-ing the Catty Challenges (an idea that popped into my head when I was preparing for a Team Catalogue Launch) and am so pleased that this talented bunch of paper crafters wanted to join me in this little venture. I am really looking forward to being inspired by the projects in our current catalogue and 'sharing the love' through CTC Challenges.

Hayley Kew

Hello! I live in Ontario, Canada and have been paper crafting for about 10 years now and four years ago I became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  I have made some fabulous friends over the past couple of years sharing what I love with people through my classes and blogging.  I am the very proud mother of a 5 1/2 year old boy and a 1 1/2 year old girl and have a beyond amazing husband who helps me to do the things in life which make me happy! When I'm not spending time with my beautiful family or tucked away in my craft room, I have the privilege of being a birth and postpartum doula.  I was thrilled to have Bronwyn invite me to join the team at CTC.  Looking forward to the fabulous projects you will be sharing with us each week as we work our way through this marvellous catalog!

Hi, I'm Jess and I'm lucky to be married to the ever patient (and spunky) Daniel and blessed to be called Mum by three sweet boys.  I've been a demonstrator since mid 2010 and have been honoured to present at both Heartfelt (regional) and Convention events.  This is my first design team and I'm very excited to be playing along each week.

Monique Fielder
Hi.  My name is Monique Fielder and I live in Canberra, Australia with my husband and daughter.  I first picked up a stamp almost two decades ago and fell in love with paper crafting and all the possibilities it provides for creative outlet.  I joined Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator four and a half years ago after falling in love with the products and how everything coordinates together so perfectly.  All the guess work is taken out of colour matching.   I work full time as the Clinical Nurse Consultant and find being creative helps me unwind and de-stress.  I tell my husband that it is cheaper than therapy!  I can lose hours creating and love being able to give friends, family and colleagues lovely handmade cards and gifts.  I am excited to be part of the Design Team for CTC.  Stampin' Up! provides us with so many ideas and I am looking forward to really exploring the catalogue as we progress through each week's challenge.

 Nikki Sadler

Well I am a full time working mother of two teenage children and a defence wife.   I own two schnoodles, Max and Spencer.  I'm an English chick living a long way from home in Melbourne ... who joined Stampin' Up! to find some new crafty friends.  Being challenged by colour and being very 'matchy matchy', I'm a SU girl through and through.  I'm a memory keeper and card maker and I love holding classes, supporting my team or simply just sitting around my kitchen table with my friends having a giggle and sharing our love for craft.

I am lucky to have been married for almost 40 years and we have raised 5 sons.  Now we are proud grandparents to five young boys and one little lass.  I work as a primary school integration aide three days a week and the remainder of my time is for Stampin' Up! and family.

Rebecca Benson
Hi, I am Rebecca Benson and  have been a Stampin Up! Demonstrator since Dec. 2010.  I love to craft and try to create something every day. I live in League City, Texas which is right between Houston and Galveston (actually might be closer to Galveston). Since 2009 I have been staying home with my kiddos, Miss O who is 8 and Mr. L who is 4 but before that I worked as a NASA contractor on the International Space Station program for almost six years. We moved to Texas in 2003 for my hubby's work after I had lived my entire life in Wisconsin, so I am still a midwestern by heart!

I've been a SU demo since September 2008 and have loved every minute since.  I love everything Su especially how everything matches.  I'm married and have two fur babies.

Sharnee Torrents
Hi, my name is Sharnee Torrents.  I live in Tasmania and have been a SU demonstrator for 8 years!!  I TOTALLY LOVE IT and as a homeschooling mum it is certainly my outlet!  The friends I've made with this fabbo hobby are AMAZING and the goodies I get to play with are the BEST!!  I can't imagine life without a stamp in my hand or ink on my fingers!!

I have just celebrated 10 years with Stampin' Up! I hosted my first workshop 11 years ago and from there I was hooked.  The best part of being a demonstrator is the friendships I have made and being able to share all the fun of crafting with my old and new friends.  I have had the honor of being Paper Crafts Magazine World Card Making Day winner for three years as well as having numerous projects published in national publications.  I have an amazing family and boyfriend and 4 incredible nieces and nephews who without a doubt you will see on a project or two.  I live in the USA in northern New Jersey and love to spend my vacations at the Jersey shore with my toes in the sand and my Nook in my hand reading!  I love paper crafting and can't imagine a life without rubber stamps, card stock and beautiful embellishments.  I love to create and share  my creations on my blog.

What a great line up.  If you thought their 'bios' were interesting, just wait until you see their gorgeous projects.  Come back tomorrow night at 7pm (AEST) when 'CASE-ing the Catty Challenges' will be officially  launched.

See you then,

Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty Challenges (CTC) and Design Team Call

Hi everyone. I'm excited to share a brand new challenge blog with you called CASE-ing the Catty (CTC) that will be officially launched on Friday 18th July at 7:00pm (AEST).

CASE - The acronym stands for COPY AND SHARE EVERYTHING. The latest Stampin' Up! ® Catalogue certainly encourages crafters to do just that as it is jam packed with amazing, inspirational projects.

The idea started when I was making the little journal that you see pictured below, in preparation for a Team Catalogue Launch -

I just LOVE CASEing ideas from the Stampin' Up! ® Catalogue to get my creative juices flowing.  It's such a great way to encourage 'newbies' to have a go at stamping and paper crafting, SU style.  With this in mind and wondering how I would structure some regular SU classes and workshops, I decided I would set myself a goal over the next twelve months to go through the latest Inspire, Create, Share Catalogue and use some of the featured projects as inspiration. Then I thought ... "Why not ask some friends to join me in the journey" and CTC Challenges was created.

The idea is to feature a section of the catalogue each week, for example, Gift and Packaging, then Memory Keeping and so on, using the projects in the catty as inspiration.  You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations.

To provide additional inspiration for the challenges, I'm putting the call out for some DT Members.  So here's your invitation to join in on the fun -

DESIGN TEAM CALL

I'm looking for paper crafters -
  • who are passionate about using and promoting Stampin' Up! ® products and can commit to submitting a weekly project two days before the challenge goes live
  • who regularly post photos of their creations to a personal blog or web site
  • who love to inspire others
  • who can 'think outside the square' and be creative with their CASE projects
If you are interested in joining CTC Challenges, please email me at bronaddinktivedesigns@gmail.com
before Sunday 13th July, telling me why you would love to join and a link to your blog or web site.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Independent Stampin' Up! ® Demonstrator
